What people need to understand is what a scientist means by a theory. A theory is an explanation of a phenomenon within the universe based on evidence and/or tests that have held up to vicious scientific scrutiny. @jystyle That was the original intent in democracy and it did work initially but democracy needs a well informed well educated public to work and we don't have that. If we did we would not have racist, religious and "conservative" parties. If this is ever to succeed we need to educate people and I don't mean collage education I mean real relevant philosophy. We need less academic theory and more pedagogical discussion. People not in academia have a negative perception of academia.
