  • I like your videos :] do you also surf a shortboard?

  • @scapy1993 I do shortboard occasionally to mix it up. I do own a few shortboards and do enjoy swapping boards with the shortboarding crowd once in a while.

  • cool except for when the camera gets stuck in the whitewater, need to have a taller extension.

I've made a few different mounts, one that was as high as 5 ft with carbon fiber. Too lazy to edit the videos and post them up, but the higher you go, the less responsive the board becomes due to yaw inertia, and when you lean the board to turn, the board will want to keep going after you've stopped the leaning. It's great for noseriding footage, but as far as performance surfing, not so good. The GoPro and housing needs to be lighter before it truly becomes feasible.

  • Can I get any info or specs on the mount/mounting hardware you used? I love the look of the video from behind. Gives a really cool sensation. Good surfing too!

I had this and other mounts custom-fabricated and welded. Bolt goes through the leash plug and out the fin box. My main advice is to look at the base of the mount and make sure it is very solid otherwise the post will wobble. I have had them built as high as 5 ft.

  • @KHSBikesCo Why not? You think the standard nose mounted camera that everybody and their sister uses is cooler?

  • Show us the mount dude, please.

  • Nice videos! ...In you opinion, how high do you have to go to keep it out of the whitewater? As you mention 5ft gets hard to ride but any feel for an optimal rear mount height?

  • Really nice job on the rear mount, I'd love to see pictures and how you did it. My friend and I made a 7 inch one, plugged into the FCS mount. I sent the footage, separately. Thanks!

  • Where is this?

  • @mdvga1 PLEASEEE

  • AAAWWWEEESSSOOMMMEEE!!!! what kind of board is that?

  • @3sgtepwnzr

About 10 inches high. Would be better if it was a bit higher, but then surfing gets a bit more difficult...
