In Pope Benedict's Motu Proprio the Epistle and Gospel may be read in the vernacular; I prefer that it be chanted in Latin as the rubrics call for with great Solemnity;
-
The music is over the top, perhaps a Palestrina or Victoria polyphonic mass would be more Catholic?
-
Isnt the epistle supposed to be chanted in Latin then re-told in english before the homily? Thats how its done at our mass...

The Novus Ordo makes me sick......guitar mass and the whole nine yards....BAH!
-
The novus ordo was a recognised reformation of the Catholic church, one that is "valid" in the eyes of the church...we all know that the novus ordo is protestant, and no matter how many grand and pomp ceremonies happen, it is still protestant! The true Catholic mass is the Tridentine Rite. I abhore the mouvus ordo, and thats why i am going into Tridentine seminary!

Well yea the english is okay i guess... because they would just translate it anyway right before the homily/sermon
But maybe the subdeacon WAS facing east... Maybe not liturgical east which should probably in any case be towards the Altar... but o well

The Tridentine Mass and the Holy Eucharist are the greatest treasures we possess on Earth! After all Christ said he would remain with us until the end of time! This is Proof!

Ok, the readings in English I can tolerate since Summorum Pontificum wasn't the clearest on that directive, but the Subdeacon should know that when changing the Epistle he should be facing "East" or towards the altar.
How much more beautiful and reverent is this compared to what we catholics are habitually subjected to with those 'do it yourself' liturgies? We can only hope that after more than 37 years on irrevrance, more will be inticed back to faith who ahd been driven out by the abitrary "reforms" of the Novus Ordo

Make the Novus look pretty pathetic doesn't it? It feels Extraordinary that's for sure and isn't that the point of Mass? to transcend the ordinary and come to meet God in the Eucharist and adore him?
