This is the reharm I used for the congregational hymn 'Adeste Fidelis' or 'Come, All Ye Faithful,' although this recording isn't from the Christmas Eve service, and I left out a verse. This is my first time posting on YouTube, and the performance is only okay. The organ is a Casavant Freres, 3 manual with pedals, 37 stop, 52 rank northern German style Baroque instrument, opus 3225. I'd love any feed back, but keep in mind that I know that the performance isn't perfect, so don't tell me where I missed notes! The camera I used doesn't pick up the low end of the organ well, and you can really only hear the reeds.

  • ahh so powerful. fantastic!!

  • @m173627 Glad you enjoyed it - It's too bad that you can't really hear the full spectrum of sound from the organ! We recently have changed to Foley-Baker our of Tolland, CT for our organ maintenance, and the tuning and overall reliability of the organ has improved dramatically. Perhaps I'll re-record this so everyone can hear the changes.

Yeah I tried listening with headphones but I don't think your mic picks up the low registers too much. Still great though

  • @m173627 yeah, it's recorded on a digital video camera with no additional sound equipment - eventually I'll get some good microphones

  • dscats, Excellent! I organ sounds and stop selection were perfect, please continue. What state is the church located? Are you the organist there?

    Thanks

    Chet

  • The church is Christ Church United Methodist in Glens Falls, NY.... it was installed in 1974, Casavant (Brunzema)... I've been at the church for almost 3 years as organist and choir director... thanks for your response!

  • amazing!!

  • @dscats19 I love the Brunzema era Casavants. His finest effort is in the Cathedral here. Lovely playing on an outstanding organ.

  • I love the sound of Casavant Organs. The church where I am a member, has a large Casavant with 5,871 Pipes

  • We listend to you again and we enjoyed!
