Joseph Robertson was an infantryman in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. The stark black and white images in this short haunt the viewer, just as Robertson is haunted by his memories from that battle.

  • I have no doubt, Mr. Robertson, that when you passed over, this soldier angel was the first one to greet you on the other side. He would have wrapped you in his arms and you would have felt only unconditional love coming from him. All your pain, sadness, and guilt would have disappeared in an instant...for the unconditional love encircling you would have blotted all else out.

May you and your Soldier Angel wander the other side as friends forever, Mr. Robertson.

  • I find these comments annoying. I don't like when people say "I'm sure that he passed on and was forgiven" because all that really happened in this man's story was the death of a young kid and a man haunted to the end of his days with guilt that he didn't deserve

Regardless of your religious beliefs, don't cheapen the horrors of war, don't belittle what men like Mr. Robertson went through by stapling on a happy ending. Don't give this harrowing tale a hollywood ending just for your peace of mind

  • War is war, people die for better or worse. Some left with scars some with less limbs and some with lots of medals. There is always going to be war.

  • This is why I always feel so so sorry for people who have been in war. They feel so horrible for killing a fellow human.. I know because of my grand-pa...
