The dark tale of the men of 3rd Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion of the 506th Infantry & how the war followed them home. Since the Iraq War began, soldier arrests in the city of Colorado Springs have tripled. At least 36 servicemen based at the nearby Army post of Fort Carson have committed suicide. And 14 Fort Carson soldiers have been charged or convicted in at least 11 killings. Many of the most violent crimes involved men who had served in the same battalion in Iraq. Three of them came from a single platoon of infantrymen. FRONTLINE tells the dark tale of the men of Third Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion of the 506th Infantry and how the war followed them home. It is a story of heroism, grief, vicious combat, depression, drugs, alcohol and brutal murder; an investigation into the Army's mental health services; and a powerful portrait of what multiple tours and post-traumatic stress are doing to a generation of young American soldiers.

  • Thank you for posting these videos. This movie inspired me to pursue my interest in the men and women who serve our country, further my research in PTSD, and advocate for our veterans.

  • Is this documentary full of sob stories and self-pity? If so, I don't want to waste any time on it.

  • This documentary isn't about who is right or wrong. It's about what happens to human beings, who may or may not be broken to begin with, exposed to the brutalities of war. It is not right for us to judge them, unless we have walked in their shoes. Whether your are American or Iraqi, all have suffered in this stupid war, some more than others. I do not defend them. I do not judge them.

  • @MrLilstub

Who are you calling nuts? What the hell are they doing in Iraq to begin with!?! How dare you blame the "muslim" for fighting back invaders and occupiersm

If America was invade, Americans would fight back. Why not expect the samee for the rest of the world.

    Idiot.

  • what do you know about war were you ther i think not it is a job and what would you do if some scum bag muslim nut was decapitating and blowing up inocent people around you .you dont know a fuckin thing about war so lf what ur saying is right let god judge them

  • where's kenny eastridge now !!

  • these are brothers

  • WELL THESE WAR CRIMINALS SHOULD BE TRIAL LIKE THE NAZIS IN THE NUREMBERG TRIALS. THE JAPANESE HIGH COMMAND WAS CHARGED FOR WAR CRIMES. THE NAZIS AND THE JAPANESE SAID THEY WERE OBEYING ORDERS AND THESE AMERICAN WAR CRIMINALS SAY THE SAME THING. THEY ALL SHOULD GET THE DEAD PENALTY AFTER ALL THEY VOLUNTEERED TO JOIN THE ARMY. NOBODY FORCED THEM.

  • @DarkReapersGrim : Instead of condemning these soldiers who were given a job to do in a situation and circumstance that you could not possibly fathom. Are these soldiers responsible for their actions? Of course. Should these soldiers be cast aside, dishonorably out processed, largely ignored and unfairly judged? Definitely not. Never! There are systematic failures in the armed forces that enable their soldiers to get out of line and not seek the proper treatment they deserve and need.

  • @DarkReapersGrim : I don't know what kind of liberal scum bag you are, but I'm pretty sure that you've never even served in the armed forces before. If you have any sort of open and analytical thinking skills, you'd realize that a grand majority of these soldiers are victims of a system, society & culture within the military that imposes unreasonable expectations so much so that they even bend their own protocol and rules to get the job done.
