Captured the nightly ritual on August 2nd 2009. Bats emerging from under the Congress Avenue bridge for their nightly feeding run. This is the largest urban bat colony in North America. These bats consume over 20,000 pounds of insects per night. The experience was totally unique. If ever you are near Austin, you MUST experience this...

  • i lived in austin for 13 years.... i never once saw the bats. i even worked a few blocks from there and i never ever did see the bats. that just goes to show how much there actually is to do in austin. :)
