  • These horses are not special anywhere. They are for women in their early 30's to late 50's, this breed has no use. It excels at nothing, they are owned as a status symbol which is beyond me because personally i think they are hideous. hurrr durrrr I'm going to spend 10k on a big fluffy black horse. It trot's big, must be worth allot. *gag* Cut their manes and shave the feathers, what you have is a squirly Percheron.

  • @gmlgm well, it goes about where you buy thim. in the Netherlands they are around of 1500 euros. but there are less friesian horses in the other countries, so it's there more around the 3000 euros

  • in uk u can but them for 100$/£ that what i heard

  • Their so beautiful my favorit kind of bread

  • @Cricket2545 In the Netherlands you can buy friesians for prices ranging from several hundreds to max 10k euros actually (and with 10k you have a really good one!).

  • @charmedxlove Those must be the "modern Friesian", wich I personally cannot see as the authentic Friesian is meant and supposed to be. And yes, Friesians will never be sports jumpers (luckily) ;)

  • @liztchan that's something you are right about.

but some friesians who aren't like the standart breed some of them have a lower placed neck that makes them abble to jump a small parcour. they are not the best jumpers but they can jump but not to high ;)

  • Martha Stewart has a few of them.

  • @Seleuce Prices DO range, but mostly they ARE costly, if you want a pure bred that holds a good pedigree and good standard. Back in the sixties, this breed was almost extinct, counting about a 1000 registered horses were left.

Someone took it seriously and refused to save the horse by mixing it with foreign blood.

In 2003, we had 40.000 registered Friesians.

  • @charmedxlove Wrong. Friesians have a very high set neck, upward. That makes it hard for this breed to basculate while jumping. So juping with them very high or very often, is asking for trouble.
