Someone argued the case that no one could have survived long in his time because their was no medical treatment- to me the argument is unfounded as these people die early as it is, and even in the 21st century giants exist in 3rd world nations and reach 8'5" or better. To die at 22 was not uncommon in the 16th century even for a normal sized man.

Im currently writing a book on human giants, an encyclopedia A-Z of pituitary cases & exhumations. Coming from the Ohio Valley its beyond me why people would doubt a 9' giantism case when exhumations here have found taller paleolithic era men and women. What I dont understand is why Wadlow gets creedance when his hands were 12" and Middleton had 17".

Hey Chris,
I have 1,600 files on giant human remains I researched in the past 10 years I can forward to you. The Giant of Castelnau is one of the more extraordinary because reports I found, as it has at least some decent peer review measurements of the bones. I might make some cheap documentary at some point.
That's a good job on your John Middleton work. The best evidence I have seen places him somewhere around 9 feet. If his hands were 17 inches long that is twice as long as a normal.

@PJU1111 yes but wadlow had to wear leg braces because of the strain on them, those leg braces killed him by causing a blister that got infected. I doubt that Middleton could have got 4 inches bigger than waldow without any serious life threatening problems. and lived to be much much older, and at a time were there was hardley any medicine or knowledge that could have helped him.

@TheRanger866 There is less evidance for Machnow

The subject of maximum human height and what is really possible is actually not completely understood.
That's all I will say right now.

The tallest person ever was Feodor Machnow from Vitebsk - 2.85 cm (9 ft, 3 in.).
-
Why you believe that Middleton was 9 ft but don't believe that Fedor Machnow was 9 ft 3 in? Machnow was 7,10 ft in the age 16, but later he grow taller.
dig up his corpse and measure his skeleton & put it up for display at some museum... i'll buy a ticket :)
