@TheBrokenNani VST is virtual instrument. Vocaloid is software speech synthesizer based on samples. Recordings from voice-actors are used to reproduce singing. All touhou songs were composed without thinking about vocals. Any vocals you hear on a touhou-song are fanmade reproductions of the original songs (arrangements)~

Wait, so there's usually no singing in the songs, but some people add Vocaloids to put words into the song??? I'm so sorry, I'm little and I don't really understand what you're saying. >.< (Little, as in 12 years old. :3) What does VST mean?

@TheBrokenNani touhou OST is 100% off-vocal, vocals are often added. Vocaloid is a sampled singing-VST (you insert text, rhythm and melody and the vst "sing" for you like a keyboard plays a note). Because a lot of people can't sing, but can handle VSTs, they use vocaloid to add vocals to an otherwise off-vocal song
