and what does it mean when an atheist swears on a bible? swearing on a bible means nothing and it is just a matter of time before it is found unconstitutional just as "in god we trust" on our money and "under god" in our pledge, all added by the religious right.

@flashoftruth funny thing about going to court, which i have so many times i cant say, that prior to any trial proceedings i would be asked to swear on the holy bible. I have heard that the evidence has been tested in a court, to see what the outcome would be, they found many times that the case for Christ was valid, hope you are well, cheers ;)

...as the saying goes...when you begin to understand why you dismiss all other 'gods', you will then understand why i dismiss your's.

if you want to choose to believe that is fine...you just can't expect anyone else to based on such flimsy evidence. to me it really doesn't matter if jesus actually existed or not. because to me the only thing that matters is the wisdom attributed to him, just as the wisdom of all the wise men & women i learn from but don't worship.

people writing about someone they never met, writing about things they didn't witness, and all on hearsay is NOT the kind of EVIDENCE that would hold up in a court of law. this is NOT the kind of evidence that you would want to have if say...you were wrongly accused on murder and you needed evidence to prove your innocence. i do not know why some are having such trouble grasping this concept. i realize you feel a 'need' to believe, but...

@flashoftruth there is plenty of credible evidence that is not scripture based. Roman scribes wrote about Him, as did the jewish scribes who did not believe He was messiah. The greeks also wrote of the same things, i would suggest that is what we all call evidence. i will send some to you if you would like, peace ;)
