I was playing around with particles in an open source program, Blender, and came up with this. :) It was fun!

  • thats was brilliant but could you tell me how you got the particles to stay in the air, I have made smoke and its on our videos but it doesn't stay in the air.

  • Extend particle life :) and use alpha ipo to have it fade out like mine.

  • Awesome! How 'bout a tutorial on how you did it? ;)

  • I'll see what I can do :)

  • i love it dude.

  • Oh thanks to God! Thanks buddy.

  • What are the Halo Settings?!??

  • Select the particle mesh then open the IPO editor. Move to the material IPO settings and select Alpha. Insert keys to change the alpha settings.

Alternative, move to the materials tab and select your particle material. Make sure that your animation is at frame one. Set the Alpha to 1.000 and press I to insert a key. Now move to frame 50 and set the Alpha to 0.000 and key it. Render your smoke-/firetrail and you'll see that every particle individually fades out.

  • How do you do ALHPA IPO!!:??? OMG!

  • Wow, that looked cool. I'm no good with particles.

  • it's kind of simple
