bit long, but did you know when you put softbody on and then (when plane selected) press just right of the 'soft object' enable button, press 1.particle system. You can set a sooth wind and then its cool :P

Eh... early editions of the code, where you didn't have many options. Kids these days... they have fur rendering and baking.
