Our mom ("Ma Craw") was recently diagnosed with a very rare & aggressive form of leukemia called T-PLL. 

A stem cell transplant offers her the possibility of a cure, but there is no blood match among the 18 million registered stem cell donors worldwide.

@z3nster dude, we got one!!! won't find out who it is till a year from now cuz of the registry's anonymity policies, but we got one on november 9th! pretty amazing. 18 million people didn't match, & then someone who did joined at the *very* last minute. mom was about to schedule herself for an experimental umbilical cord blood transplant, which woulda taken her name off the list of searching patients, & 3 days before her deadline, a match manifested!! :-O

I can't donate due to my Hep C, but I just thought of a way I could help, maybe not with Rena, but with others....I have to give a persuasive speech to my college class, and I have been trying to find a topic....I just decided (on watching this) that I am going to do it on periphreal blood stem cell and bone marrow doantions....to make people aware of what this is and how to do it....we are all in this together, and we can save lives with just a little time out of our "oh so important" days
