@itstheapocalypse You may be right, but I just meant that gymnastics (at least artistic gymnastics), has a more controlled style.

@cherrygirl016 Well, not really. The earliest gymnasts back in the 30's and 40's were former ballet dancers, and usually the best kind of gymnastics involves some elements of ballet. Nowadays, gymnasts have their own styles, but there are gymnasts that have very ballet-esque styles (Lilia Podkopayeva, Svetlana Khorkina, Anna Pavlova, Nastia Liukin, Ana Porgras, Aliya Mustafina, etc.)
