Germany just ends up footing the bill for every anglo american policy change in the world. I am sure the Germans are keeping receipts of their bills, and Russia's name is probably on none of them (at least as far as outgoing payments are concerned..)

He is so naive to side with Berlusconi and Papandreou. The idea of holding a referendum in Greece was a gimmick to unite the nation, clinch even a better deal and keep Papandreou in power -- something that didn't work out.
And what does he care about the Euro anyway? He's British.
