Ruby the foster dog making friends and learning how to play!

Ruby came to Guardian Pit Bull Rescue in Houston, TX just a mere few hours from being euthanised. She was left locked and abandoned in a house during the summer for over a month. When she was found, she was barely 31 pounds with scars and dried blood all over her body and looking as though she had recently given birth. In the coming weeks, it would be realized that in addition to being used as a breeding dog and possibly bait dog, she also has an unattended shattered hip. The decision was made that a total hip replacement was needed. An animal that has been through all that Ruby has would normally not bounce back. Ruby has done more than that! She has managed to gain all the lost weight back and is now a healthy 54 pounds! Although her physical scars have healed, she has thrived in her surroundings learning that she isn't being used for anything, but that she can actually be a dog with no cares. She brings a smile to the faces she meets and loves all the attention she always seems to generate. Even though she has to take a lot of pain medication daily until she gets her hip surgery, Ruby still manages to get around and play with her foster sisters with a hope that she can run again without pain!
