Any immature, ignorant, uneducated, and childish comments will be removed from this video. I will not tolerate bigotry.

An excellent tribute by Staind to Layne Staley. Very powerful.

This is off of one of Staind's albums named "Fourteen Shades of Grey

Lyrics:
I heard today that you were gone
I had to stop and sing along
The song they played to say goodbye
A song they gave, give me back life

You'll never fade
The words you gave
My life you saved
Your name was layne
And on that day a child was born
To someone who you helped along
And helped see through his darkest times
Because of you, this child she is mine

The words you said, you made me feel Like they were all for me
The words you said, they will always Be a part of me
The words you said, you made me feel Like I was not alone
The words you said, you gave me all The strength to carry on

So to me you'll never fade
Your life you gave
My life you saved
Your name was Layne...

  • @richmondfan7 "Kurt and I weren't the closest of friends, but I knew him well enough to be devastated by his death. For such a quiet person, he was so excited about having a child." - Layne Staley

I don't think even Layne would agree with your comment.

  • Just profound

  • Mike Starr sang back up vocals to this song. Make it that better, Doesn't it?

  • @richmondfan7 in all honesty you can't compare the two, both were grunge but they had their own unique twist on it ya know, bothe were great artist but i appreciate layne more so i agree with ya
