  • for a point of view independant of the industry, presenting the technical flaws in the fracking technology, look for a video named "Shale Gas 101" on Youtube

  • QUE VIDEO TAN MALOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • why don't they also find listric faults? It would make life easier as well

    maybe I am wrong

  • JUST SAND? It is a common industry practice to add radioactive tracers to the sand to see if the detonations reached their zone. Then for the flowback, there is a company called Lumnipipe that guarantees a less radioactive flowback. I have kept my son from school when the winds are blowing towards his school (Bailey) during fracking. Friday they had a fluid spill and it was going into the storm water drainage. Pantego is on ground water...lovely!

  • @gfguunfg Wrong i work on a rig that is drilling horizontally right this very minute and there is no coiled tube. its 4 1/2 inch steel drill pipe along with the mud motor and various other pieces known as the bottom hole assembly. i tripped out 12000 feet of pipe to put that BHA in with the halliburton directional drilling crew on the floor. then 12000 back in the hole and no coiled tubes to be seen.

  • this new technology was given by USA to Kuwait to steal Iraqi oil>no wounder Saddam Hussein was up in arms, that Kuwait was stealing Iraqi oil,Horizontal drilling was closed secret at that time>you can never imagine how much morally corrupt CIA Pentagon Mossad are ?

  • We use the regular drill string that we use for straight holes.anything bends if it is long enough. The collars bow a little just laid out in the derrick. The down hole motor turns by water preasure and water volume, there is also a slight bend in it and we point the tool face in the direction we want to go and is slowly builds a curve. When horizontal we switch back and forth from rotating the whole drill string to turning just the bit ( Sliding ) to maintain it.

  • It's better this way for multiple reasons. One reason I can think of is they don't have to move LIKE you said. My dad could explain other ways.

  • Some But Not All.. Some Just Use Normal Rated Drill Pipes With DownHole Motors as part of the BHA !

Or Simply Use A RSS (Rotary Steerable System) !

Both Build Good inclination & Serve good in extended Reach Wells !

  • Well they can and have drilled horizontally with steel pipe as well. Everything bends when you apply enough force :)
