Ok. Jon and I aren't known for our brilliant idea's. But when we have one, its freaking awesome! Safety isn't a factor most of the time and that really goes for this adventure.

Our attempt to drop a camera from an RC plane with a parachute was a huge success! However the wind instantly made it a huge failure. Watch as we try our best to not get sue'd.

I don't know how many times I've watched this and it still doesn't get old! How did you make the retracts though?

Thanks dude! There mounted vertically inside the fuselage of the plane so the arms rise up. Worked like a charm

I can tell you are not in the PRK California, somebody would come running over in 5 minutes to tell you that you can't do that.

lol well thats what you didnt see. I cut out a bunch of footage from the camera on the road, there was probably about 10 cars that drove past it, Jon couldnt get to it until traffic cleared. Sadly though the chute covered the lense so it was only shadows passing over. :(

It would be super cool if you have done the same thing with a weather ballon and had drop the gopro from 33.000 meters with a GPS so you would find it after

If the wind is blowing, you can attach a wind-vain to the camera to control wich direction the camera is pointing.

Nice video. Try it again on a day with no wind. Maybe the camera won't sway as much. Hard to say though.
