Fred Clark's first solo release since his Grammy Ballot Children's album (Happy Fun) is "American Christmas", an original song he wrote and produced that evokes a "wall of sound" vibe. In addition to the writing and production, Fred performs all the vocals and music on the song. Trenell Parfait provided the mastering. The video, co-directed by Fred and his wife, Lauren (who also edited) features them, as well as four of their children, Colette, Bernadette, Bridget, and Frederick, along with cousin Graham Calderera. During filming of "the homeless scene", Fred and Lauren met a homeless man who wandered onto the set. The man, Shane, assisted them, and Fred & Lauren were happy to be able to help him a bit. A picture of Fred and Shane appears at the end of the video.
