Spencer Davis Group - Dust My Blues

Here's a gem. The Spencer Davis Group's take on the Elmore James classic "Dust My Broom". Steve Winwood this time on guitar. Where would modern music be today had the Brits not gravitated to American Blues they way they dig. Eric Burdon once said it best, "we took in America's trash". Now that's a re-cycling story of a different colour.

@est3inb3rg he doesn't!!!

@BiggousDickous he's actually playing the lead part and doing really well, much better than i'd expect of a keyboard player

Interesting.....the lyrics are in Finnish!

Steve Winwood sempre molto bravo.

Unbelievable tone from that Strat. What do you think Steve's playing through?

Hot chicks think they're ugly and go out with losers and Spencer must have thought he couldn't sing??????????

@rayjoiner I completely agree with you, but I think this was originally a Robert Johnson song, not Elmore James'.

Every band I have played with covered this song...it is a blast to play and every audience loved it

The Australian band "Chain" did a great version of this number in the 70s.

@Mryorkshirepudngravy 100% AGREED !
Brilliant. What an incredible guitar player Steve Winwood was. [Originally posted by mooseontheloose and mistakenly removed by me...I wanted to reply that Steve still is a great guitarist. Oops!]
