nice video, im surprised that they let you film on the platform. Normally Amtrak police would ask you not to film the trains for whatever reason. But anyways would you happen to know whats the Acelas top speed might be? By the looks of it i would say it would be around something of 130 maybe a little more. Im not really sure because i've never been on it being it doesn't goto Chicago or anything.

@quornholio Hey, I live in Germany too but I love Amtrak. It's so sad that ppl write about things they have no idea of. I wouldn call myself an expert about them as well but what some ppl write on the net is just... trash. I've even heard more than one guy say there were absolutely no trams in the US... so sad :(

But nevertheless please show a bit of restraint , those idiots won't learn anyway.

Greetings from Cologne, Mike

What Mikosch2 said is true. I will also add that the US and Canada for that matter are big countries so people want to take a plane to get where they are going on longer distances. With that said Amtrak is popular and people want it around so its not going no where especially now that Obama is in office. He increased Amtrak's budget.

I think the US government needs to upgrade the 100 year old rail infrastructure on the northeast corridor to allow the Acela do what it's meant for. That being said, going thought Connecicut at 20 mph on the Acela is useless.
