What do you think his hand motion at :55 right before the last powerful bits is about? Hopefully it wasn't to cue a tape (but rather some reverb or something)...The 2005 LA clip on here is the best live take I've heard of this. More sustain.

This is the first time they performed this song since 1997 in sarajevo and I attendet the show. I was totally stunned by this performance. A truly great moment!
U2 is still the greatest band on earth and no one is anywhere near them!

Bono Triumphant! The great thing is that he doesn't try to mimic Pavarotti. He uses his own style to sing the Italian verses.
