A 100-kilowatt, community-scale wind turbine was erected on the Case Western Reserve University campus in November, 2010. The university plans to install a total of three turbines, creating possibly the largest university facility of its kind in the country dedicated to wind energy innovation and education. In addition to research, the turbines, funded by the Ohio Third Frontier Program, will offer opportunities for local companies to create, test and commercialize wind energy-related technologies.

  • This is a good idea because we need to use renewable energy as our source of power.

  • setting it up looks easy here at this video...they look like a toy to me..

  • Awesome. ..

  • that would be a great job

  • What a fantastic video. I have admired wind turbines for decades. How cool to see how they actually put one up. Tremendous artistry in selecting the photos for the movie and an obvious eye for engineering.

  • I got a cold sweat when I saw those two men up there on that platform without safety harnesses!, and nearly heart attacked when one climb over, and the other one kicked the blades into place. OMG! Looks good, and glad they put one up, but wow, next time use harnesses.
