IMPORTANT DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS HERE:

Basically the IFDG A319 and many other freeware aircraft built for fs9 don't have their own panel, but use one the fs9 default panels. the one that is mostly used is the boeing 737-400 from fs9. the problem is that that aircraft is not present in fsx, so you must give that aircraft the default boeing 737-800, instead of 737-400.
So, go in the aircraft folder. open panel folder, open the panel.cfg in notepad.

you should get something like this:

[fltsim]
alias=b737_400\panel

Now, change it to:

[fltsim]
alias=b737_800\panel

now it will utilize the b737_800 panel and the aircraft will show up in the fsx aircraft menu. make sure you do the same to the sounds:

go in sound folder, open sound.cfg

change this:

[fltsim]
alias=b737_400/sound

to this:

[fltsim]
alias=b737_800\sound

thats it! if you want to use another panel or soundset you can find the name of the aircraft folder, and subsitute the "b737_800" part with another aircraft name.

of course you can also look on avsim for a free panel and soundset for fsx which are usually better than this.

  • If it could do it for FS2004 planes - can it do on FS98,FS2000,FS2002 model planes?

  • it says access denied when i try to change the panel and sound.cfg file....

  • nice

  • it didnt work!!!!!

  • cn v convert fsx planes to fs2004??

    plz reply!!

  • Tips: But if the FS9 aircraft has files in the panel folder or wav files in the sound folder, don't edit the aircraft's panel and sounds. Or the aircraft won't show up in FSX or have sounds.

  • I LOVE YOU!

  • what did you use to record this?

  • how do i convert a b727-200?

  • doesnt work
