The missing Peanuts note. Many people make this mistake when trying to learn the song themselves. This shows the difference. Not being critical of anyone, since it is a tough song to get right, especially with the timing. Just a technical correction.

*Note: If you see videos of people playing it in front of sheet music, either the sheet music is wrong, they are not reading it correctly, or they aren't reading it period.*

  • I don't think this was necessary. I understand you were trying to be helpful but the person that played did amazing without that one missing note. plus they weren't doing a tutorial and no on really noticed the minor flaw, it sounded great all the same. not to offend you but I just had to put that out there!

  • @charlieunderscore07 And if you notice, blackratsnakes basically thanked me for posting it, commenting "nice job". Whether it was necessary or not is irrelevant, since the intent was a technical overview, not a critique.

  • If you're going to nitpick over something, why don't you nitpick over the fact almost nobody who's posted a video plays the bridge or whatever you want to call it correctly. It's the part that goes[(Eb + Ab) then (F together with an E natural grace note + Ab) then (F+Ab)]. Repeat 3 times then play Eb. Also, I've never seen anyone play the full song with both jazz sections perfectly. There are some good ones but none have been perfect.

  • @djs0302 I agree, I would love to be able to play the whole song, but it's just not in me. This wasn't nitpicking by the way. This was actually meant to be a helpful vid for people who want to be exacting.

  • LOL - I added that note in after I made the video since others have also pointed it out (the extra Eb or is it D#?), anyway since the video is almost 5 years old, I never had the urge to repost it but yep, you got the note. If you're bored and search through the posts, you will see others have commented about it but no one has ever posted a video to illustrate it. I've gotten better at rolling the notes in that one section but I still have terrible positioning in my right hand. Nice job!

  • @blackratsnakes Thanks, haha. Was my first time patching together a custom vid for upload. Was fun to do. Good job with the bad wrists. (Although if your doctor had seen you doing that he probably would have scolded you.) ;-)

  • I've been trying to learn this song for quite a while. The hard part is I've never taken piano lessons and while I know all the notes on the grand staff, I still have a little trouble with ledger lines. I can read most music notation e.g. the acciaccatura in the bridge. So far I can play the main theme, the first jazz section, and the melody part of the second jazz or swing section. I'm working on the chord bass line to the swing section. I prefer that to the alternate walking bass line.
