@greggymcgurks You're 100% correct. There are plenty of capable, intelligent Republican women (who I don't agree with politically) that McCain could have chosen, but he chose Palin because she is hot, and she set women in politics back 50 years in my opinion. Fast forward 3 years and she is a national punchline. Nothing more. Even Roger Ailes regrets hiring her as a correspondent on FNC.

I feel pity and contempt for Michael Steele at the same time. Pity because he doesn't seem to understand that not even his own party respects or likes him very much, he is just a pawn to make them look like they are down with black people.
Contempt because he is just sooo pathetic. I can't watch a single clip of his without facepalming and to top it off he has proven to be quite the disingenuous and hypocritical asshole.

It was racist in and of itself for the Republicans to put Michael Steele in the position he is in simply because Barack Obama had become president. They turned Michael Steele into the token black guy and that is an insult to black people. It's just like Sarah Palin getting the VP nod... she's an insult to all the intelligent capable women out there Republican or Democrat. Republicans assign people they know they can take advantage of. Michael Steele is an insult to all the capable black people.
