The US governments budget for NASA is $18.45 billion for the year 2011. Whats depressing is the air conditioning budget for US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan for the same year is $20 billion. They gotta sort out their priorities

Im sure the government will save fuel reserves for just such things + space shuttle gas isnt actually made out of oil. It is made out of liquid hydrogen fuel and liquid oxygen oxidizer. So yeah :P we wont run out. + its fun to troll :)

sadly, obama cancelled new moon missions and in 20 or so years when the mars missions are probably going to take place all the gas will be gone, so that means that this might be our last time in space
