Jean Luc Ponty one of the pioneers in jazz rock fusion (in my opinion). He has always surrounded himself with great players. On this record Rayford Griffin is playing the drums. Unbelievable is the only word I can describe him. For me he displays all the qualities an exceptional drummer should posses: creativity, coordination, technical expertise, musicality. Also on this recording, playing bass guitar, you might recognize from American Idol....one of the judges....yep...you guessed it...Simon Cowell. Just kidding...it's none other than Randy Jackson. Before he started producing records he was and is an amazing bass player. Here is my attempt at playing this piece....any and all comments are welcome...thanks for watching!

  • GREAT job!! I am a JLP fan going back to Civilized Evil. Rayford is awesome and can play JLP's off beats very well. Nice kit. Loved you paradiddling ;) near beak at the end of the song. One of my favorite tunes. YOU are very good!! What do you have your tom toms tuned on?

  • Always loved this song specially the ending march that gives me chicken skin. Great job, thanks for uploading.
