I originally uploaded this game two years ago but I did a crappy job of editing and left out the replays and defensive plays. So here is a better copy split into 2 parts.

  • No matter who is blowing out who, blowouts are never good for rivalries. Hopefully this rivalry can deliver a classic this year.

  • It's so weird how Michigan has lost so much respect since '97. They've made a BCS bowl six times since college football introduced it. They beat Florida, who had the heisman trophy winner at QB, and everyone says that they got lucky. If Carr would have called some more unpredictable plays and deep passes like he did in that game, he would still have his job. But, it was time for a change, and in a few years, Michigan will be back to being contenders for the national title.

  • i know ohio st is michigans big time rival but i live in northern indiana 20 miles from south bend so i go to school with nothing but notre dame fans when michigan beats notre dame i go to school with a huge smurk on my face so the i dislike notre dame more then ohio st GO BLUE MAKE IT 3 years in a row i can go to school a huge ass smurk

  • @MrD6M6K6 yeah, too bad they couldn't get Ohio State back.

  • @MikeLawrey32 I'm sure NBC isn't thrilled Notre Dame has been terrible the last few years, but last year (2010) was OK, but ND has lost some of their fair-weather fans, but as soon as they start winning again, and I think it will be soon, they'll get those fence-sitting fans back. The Michigan-Notre Dame rivalry will once again be one of the best. Seems like Michigan/Notre Dame and Notre Dame/Michigan State is always a great game, I never miss those games

  • I love when MICHIGAN whoops up on Notre Dame in South Bend. I'll admit, I hate Ohio State a lot more, but Notre Dame is 2nd, then Michigan State.

I think Brian Kelly will turn ND into a contender. I've been watching him since he turned around my Alma Mater at Central Michigan University and have known of him since he turned Grand Valley State into a D2 powerhouse. All this guy does is turn programs around into champions.

With Hoke at Michigan this is rivalry must got a spark. see ya in A2,MI

  • I think this was the first game that exposed Charlie Weis as a highly overrated head coach.

  • Michigan is the best...

  • @Knightmessenger

The new coach search was only a fiasco in retrospect. Herbstreit basically fucked up our chances of getting Les Miles and the next few guys (including Kirk Ferentz) turned the job down.

I'm actually glad Miles isn't here right now...have you heard about his Saban-esque antics at LSU? He recently withdrew a scholarship from a player (due to oversigning) who had lived in his DORM for weeks, then flat-out lied about it to the media.

As AD, Bill Martin was good at exactly one thing...handling money. He was mostly invisible, left the coaches and staff to their own devices for the most part (which in part led to the NCAA violations), and never seemed concerned with the idea of "direction" in our athletics. However, the renovations would not have been budgeted properly without him.

Luckily for us, Dave Brandon is likely Martin's equal financially and is very clearly the face of Michigan athletics.
