In Brazil, if you have a musket in your house; you are a criminal.

The Weapon used in this demonstration made by a gunsmith named John Buck is.75 caliber'matchlock'. Instead a flint it uses hemp cord boiled in water vinegar and black powder. This "match" was also used to fire artillary. The matchlock was more reliable than the flintlocks. The matchlocks misfire about one in hundred. The fintlock that I own misfires about one in ten.The match lock was first used around 1450 year and was still used by The Japanese in 1860

Oh indeed?
A very fine presentation. Wish I was there to watch it. Muskets are a sort of fascination with me...

It's a musket. It has a flash-pan, flint, ramrod, lead-ball, gunpowder and paper wadding. It's a musket. Find a bolt on it, and then I'll call it a rifle.
it's a bit hard to hear, but other than that a very nice video.
