Actually, circumcision causes more health problems than it prevents. It causes erectile dysfunction, increases HIV transmission from males to females, increases infection rates in infants as the raw wound of the penis is exposed to faeces and urine.

It is also severely painful. Anyone who inflicts such pain on a baby for their own gain is a sexual sadist.

My (gentile) doctor's opinion is that it's much like an appendix: Unless it's infected, you don't *need* to remove it, but it doesn't matter in the slightest if you do. It IS cleaner and circumcised men are less likely to contract certain diseases, including HIV, because the main receptors for these bugs are in the foreskin. So it IS cleaner and healthier, but not essential unless there are other issues. Not one man I've asked who was cut as an adult preferred being uncut, nor would go back.
