This video is comprised of footage from the soundcheck prior to Canasta's sold out show at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music on Sat. 2/26/11. The song is the studio version of "Appreciation," the sixth track from our 2010 release, "The Fakeout, the Tease and the Breather." The video was shot, directed and edited by Eduardo Cintron ( http://www.eduardocintron.com ).

  • You are quite welcome... it was an honor to play for the people of St. Louis!

  • Hmmm... good question. Personally, I get excited about weird, old timey candy... ya know, Swedish salted black licorice, Necco Wafers, Bit o' Honey, etc. But I also dig all the normal stuff: M&M's, Snickers, Kit Kat, etc. My favorite of all time, though, is probably Reese's Pieces. As for the rest of the band, I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they keep things pretty standard in the candy dept.

  • MGCooley - Candy? If you're serious, we will totally come back and take you up on that.

pakk777 - I'm learning that everything Eduardo has worked on has terrific lighting. Check out his other stuff if you have a sec...

  • So. Awesome. Times a million. Come back to St. Louis! I will give you CANDY.

  • @MGCooley We're coming back to St. Louis next weekend! And we'll be looking for candy! We're at the Firebird on Sun. 1/8. Check out our website for more info...

  • @MGCooley Then it sounds like we'll see you in a week or so!

  • That was a fun show! Thanks, Canasta. :-)

  • Boy do I hope so, or so help me these hostages aren't going to make it. So you were a topic of conversation last night that sparked a FIERCE discussion about the best vs. worst kinds of candy. Sadly my friends make some very questionable choices. What kind of candy does a Canasta eat, anyway?

  • YES. Celebratory / preparatory dance party starts NOW.

  • Great lighting in this video, and song is of course excellent.
