Ten days from our visit at the Valley Railroad in Essex, Connecticut, American Rail videos brings to you our last video of 2-8-0 #97.

In this video, we will watch #97 pull her 3:30 PM train back into the station at about 4:45 PM (the last train of the day), then the engine crew will un-couple her from the train and put her into the yard for a 14 and-a-half hour nap. We will also watch the engine crew shovel coal for a fire on the next morning, look at some views of the beautiful Consolidation, and we will watch as the engine crew puts her to bed after pulling trains on the last day of the September caboose weekend. We thank you for watching our videos of the Essex Steam Train. Visit their site!: www.essexsteamtrain.com

  • @trainfann1 Hm, i think they mentioned 5 years, but you might want to check the website on that.

  • What are they doing to the bell @ 5:01

  • @indie1361 How long do you think til shes out?

  • Great Video! Too bad 97 has her 15 year rebuild. I dont doubt the skill of the shop crews though! Can't wait till shes out and about! 3025 is a nice fill in for 97, nice to see new power.

  • I LOVE THAT WISTLE

  • @cancerman50 thats because most of them have something in the funnel that makes the smoke more clean and less noticeable. and cuz its been restored so its more envirnmental friendly and not billowing black smoke like you see on the steam shay engines

  • I thought steam engines created much mor esmoke then this. I've seen many make much more steam then this one.

  • @david245611 love the whistle lol

  • njoyed this great movie in webmovietube

  • @csgptg Yeah no offence to CT lovers, as a Connecticut resident that has been to numerous RR's, I could tell you to take your money and head to Cass, WV. They have the most interesting operation with great history and scenery. They take you up the mountain a 4.5 hour trip to a great view of the mountains. They have alot of switchbacks and they have open granola cars. Its really awesome.
