Passenger liner ex SS France/SS Norway renamed Blue Lady for scrapping is wrecked on the beaches at Alang, India. This still shot shows the first stages of cutting designed to make it impossible to float the vessel again.

Please do not email Mr Goosens of SSmaritimedotcom about this video. He is aware of the fate of the Blue Lady and does not want to be troubled any further over this issue, so please show him some respect. Also, please consider the Blue Lady fans and don't make disrespectful comments which may be removed.

  • I could have swoarn she wasn't broken up by she was just beached. But when i read that it may have been a little out dated.

  • @trainmanauxl1 Beached in 2006, stripped 2007, demolished in 2008/9.

  • As heartbreaking as the pictures of the Michelangelo beached and being torn apart for scrap metal, I remember when the Italian liner would berth next to the France in the NY piers. They don't build them as externally lovely anymore

  • Yes the new liners are not very nice aesthetically. Nice for the passengers though with 1000's of balcony suites and great entertainment aboard even better than big ships like the Norway.

  • What part of "video" does this uploader not understand?

  • All you have done, Mike, is uploaded other people's content. I have given some original stills and still compilations which have provoked more discussion and views than all your copyright infringing recycled efforts put together.

  • @lightening777 There are image sites upon which to host this shit.

  • Youtube is for videos.........

  • @mike18xx The v, the i, the d, the e and the o, actually.

  • @MrHearnz Because they were so nice and good looking. Better than todays.

  • i wish that the civilized nations of the world would invade india (country of filthy, inbred, brown rodents) and stop them from carving up our ocean heritage like this.

  • Wow. A picture of a boat. Trully life-changing stuff.

  • No offense, but seriously wth? Why are people interested in old ships? This was a recommended video on my startpage because i've seen some alang videos..but this?

  • We see the dear old Indians explioting their workers yet again by making them work in these foul and dangerous conditions. That is far more significant than trying to save an old wreck!

  • @theyanchamp well i don't know, but i think something has to give...
