I wanted to make some videos of this awesome game, and here is the first one. I just love everything there, the music, the level design, the bosses... Slogra (the first one) killed me a few times, and then I got an almost perfect run on this boss o_O' !

As you can see, this is the japanese version of the game (original name "Akumajou Demon Castle Dracula", not sure about "Akumajou" though =/).

There are several differences in this version such as the title screen and the blood on the floor before it appears, the blood instead of green poison in the level before the golden area, the sound of the whip when you attack, and so on.

NB: "NASH" is not my nickname, but I used a password from castlevania.be (thanks to this site btw) and the name had to be "NASH". Hope you enjoy it !
The video was recorded from the original game on my TV, this is not from an emulator.

  • This is still one of my top five end-game sequences of all time. That music change and the torches lighting up is still chilling to this day.

  • @rokninja Agreed. Those are the reasons I made this video :)

  • Lmao. You were trying to sequence break at 2:30 weren't you?

  • @KarasawaL30 I'm always trying to sequence break in any game, since it is really fun :)

  • thanks for the password

  • @sexypadri you're welcome :)

  • I spent several hours trying to beat these guys my first time, and Gaibon gave me the most trouble. My hands were hurting SO MUCH, that by the time I beat him I had ti take a break. This is my second fave game of all time, and it's not because of nostalgia. I first played this last year when I got my SNES.

  • this castlevania had the best setting in terms of eerie atmosphere.

  • nice gameplay :D watch mine of castlevania 3 if u want ^^

  • Too bad Death wasn't done in true Castlevania fashion and the scythes flying out of him as he dies could still hurt you. Hated that the game gave so many pork chops or really any at all between battles.

  • The Grim Reaper is a bitch to beat in every game of the series

  • this is the best castlevania of all

  • I love the chilling effect the music and the torches give when you start to enter the corridor.

  • I remember playing this before the Castletroids. Much as I love the Castletroids, the old ones where still awesome platformers, and I love them as well.

Slogra was a pain when I didn't quite know how to handle him, but when I figured it out he was amusingly easy.
