@detroitboy65 I don't believe in any kind of god. I say it isn't completely random because the creatures survive in certain conditions and thats what drives the mutations.

@ftwuh It is easy to argue syntax, and Natural Selection, as a product of mutation(s), is not random as the beneficial mutations select for improved survival; however, the mutations themselves are quite random in the sense that there is no directional force given rise to them. If If mutations were not random, all Humans would be immune to most infectious diseases; we would all live for more than 100 years. There is no director, no god running the show.

Random it is. If you were not random, it would be by design. A small percentage of the mutations experienced by every organism are positive for improved survival. All sorts of enviromental stressors push Natural Selection, and those mutations that work best for survival despite the stressors are passed on.
