  • I hear you. We have been extremely successful the last few years high speed trolling. Went 5straight trips with at least 1 wahoo over 50 lbs. That streak produced 51 lb, 51 lb, 59 lb, 63 lb and 77.5 lb all at or above 13.5 knots. There were other smaller fish as well. It is not the only way to catch wahoo but has done good for us. Still hard to beat a horse ballyhoo with a blue/white Ilander at 8.5/9 knots.

  • How fast are you trolling? What are your lures?

  • Generally 13-17 knots depending on a a few factors including what speed the fish were hitting. Lures vary but 2 favorites are the C & H Lures "Mr. Big" in white over blue and an Ilander in black/orange. Both rigged on 275 lb cable. 10/0 stainless hook, stiff rigged.
