Homecoming

This is the story of one group of dogs who were slated for euthanasia, that we received a plea for help about. Watch the video to see a real story about trying to engineer the rescue of a number of dogs, by a small grassroots rescue.

These 14 dogs were one of several pleas for help for dogs that are in imminent danger of euthanasia every day. It would be fitting if the people who bred these dogs, and who got them as puppies then failed to properly train and care for them, and finally to whoever else contributed to these dogs ending up in a shelter when we are currently using euthanasia as a method of birth control, to watch this video and see what happens when they wash their hands of their "problem".

The dogs whose endings are not shown in this video are still urgent at this time, and we're still working. Updates will be posted. But remember, there are many many more dogs in as much danger as these 14 - these are just the ones with faces.

Richie joined Barlee's on December 9 2008. Shelter staff and volunteers went way out on a limb keeping him so long. He was urgent in September. Thanks for giving us and him a chance. A video of his arrival to Barlee's Angels can be viewed from our main page.

Many other dogs have not received help and lost their lives since this video was created. Please consider volunteering or donating to a reputable rescue organization near you.

UPDATE OCT 12: DEWEY, SADIE, KRISTINA, CARSON, and one other urgent dog from the same shelter arrived to Barlee's Angels last night safe and sound.

We are still hoping something will come through for Richie.

Wonderul. My dog Maddieroo was saved by a group in Virginia the day beore she was to be euthanized. She has a birth deect but is actually a very great dog. I can't imagine not living with her!
