First iteration of a color thresholding algorithm on an experimental autonomous vehicle. Steering is controlled by an algorithm that decides whether the red T-shirt is in the left or right pane of the captured image. Brakes, clutch and acceleration(not shown and not powered up) are also controlled in the same manner, depending on how close or far the object (red Tshirt in this case) is. Thus, the vehicle can follow a person wearing the Tshirt.
