Well, maybe art doesn't have to have an entirely cohesive explanation to be valid. Artwork is full of loose-ends, it's impossible for the artist to fully comprehend the scope of its effect. Plus language is so limiting- a reason why artists turn to other forms of expression in the first place.

@rubenstein418 Well, consider the whole point. His work is purported to be full of masonic content... so why should it be clear? I mean, to the everyman? I feel like this stuff is aimed at a very specific kind of audience, and you and I are not in it.

Van Gogh sold one painting in his lifetime, actually. And it was used to pay his rent. Now his work has been so demeaned to the point that it has become kitsch.

That is a silly opinion to have. I mean to deny that there is art left is to deny that there is beauty, ugliness, murder, birth, trash, cleanliness, etc. left.
art is for everyone.
