@EminencePhront Shredding is fine, but better is a Motiff which is what you just called a Riff, or a Musical Idea that is memorable. Example this song and Into the Void and every other Sabbath and Zep song you can name. shredding needs to lead to back to a Motiff/Riff, or it is nothing. Vulgar Display was some of the most Original and Fascinating Riffs I ever heard. Power Groove.

Tony Iommi: a master of riffs. Most guitarists pride themselves on their ability to shred. Iommi's disabled hand wouldn't allow that. So he became the first riff god. Only Dimebag Darrell has ever come close to challenging this title.

Man this album got me into metal.. The solo in this song and Born Again used to send me into other worlds!!! They still do. I'm only 28 and I found this album in my basement when I was in grade 8. It was my dads. It looked creepy and sounded creepy. I love it. The greatest thing of ever come across. funny thing is my dad was never even a metal head. This album probably took him to space too. It transcends genres!!!!
