our 4 girls rescued via the Battery Hen Welfare Trust- never buy battery eggs or food with battery eggs in as you're perpetuating their misery.

  • do battery hens ever go broody because i rescued one and im keeping it free range with my other hens and roosters and she hasnt laid an egg or gone broody if you have an answer please respond

  • @gofifns350 hi, well done for rescuing one of the girls :0) Battery hens are unlikely to go broody because they've had that instinct bred out of them but it's not impossible. I've heard of battery hens going broody and successfully raising chicks, they're just less likely to go broody.

  • where can i get hens like these to rescue?

  • @kotik122 google 'The Battery Hen Welfare Trust', good luck :0)

  • What breed do battery chickens tend to be?

  • @BigRiggers0109 they're a hybrid, i think they're ISA browns but not sure.

  • Thank you BHWT..Anyone who buys battery eggs should be ashamed of yourselves..If people didn't buy them they wouldn't have battery hens

  • Adopting a child, or pet won't change the world. But for that child, or pet the world will change. I'm so glad they have welfare oganations for other creatures! :)

  • Its east to forget how poor they look when you first get them. We have a gravel rear garden which our 3 rescue hens love. We got ours through the BHW

  • @gofifns350 cook it that will sort it out

  • i recused 150 my dad works a a battery farm soo we helped

  • @MRSHashi sorry but you shouldnt by free range either. All that means is they get 30 mins of time out of their hell each day. Did you know that the places they have free range chickens still kill the male chicks. The best thing you could do is STOP BUYING EGGS COMPLETELY. Or buy them ONLY from a friend who has chickens as pets.

  • precious babies, happy hens! :) i have four pet hens myself that i raised, it makes me feel good to know that four chickens will never grow up to live in terrible conditions such as a battery cage that commercial chickens must live through. Good for you for giving these girls a home. i wish everyone would give a chicken home! Chickens are wonderful, fun pets

  • They look like you have had them for awhile before you filmed this... They look like they are recovering nicely there and are enjoying their freedom.

  • Looks like red production hens or red star
