monster hunter 3 sword shield Rathian kill

I just did it. Took down rathian with the sword and shield.
I think the new up slash is powerful which is why I use it in the combo with the spin attack.

Great job on the kill. Glad to see so many people still love Monster Hunter and want to get this game when it comes out in the U.K. and the U.S. Looking forward to seeing a large amount of players when it's realeased :)

Lance is a solid choice. Their shields allow them to completely absorb damage from most attacks so they're able to be in front of the monster as much as they want. While it's strike damages aren't as strong as Great Sword, Long Sword, and Mace, their constant, uninterrupted attacks allow them to compete anyways. They play much differently then the other weapons, they're much more static and immobile but at the same time unmovable.

@Darktoonlink88 Long sword is probably the strongest weapon when charged up, apart from maybe a switch axe or something, and because long sword has so much power and is so fast, its a great weapon when versing boss monsters. the only trouble is getting it charged up, AND you cant defend with it. SnS is decent except the blocking doesnt absorb all the damage so even when i use it i tend to dodge instead of block.

with a great sword, it takes me 4 minutes to kill a rathian . with a sword and shield , it took me 20 minutes .
