Toll booth prank

Paying a toll booth with just pennies. A penny IS legal tender and MUST be accepted no matter what they may say.

If everyone behind him did the same exact thing; perhaps the jerk-offs who decided to put these booths in will get the message.

when i worked the tolls i woulda told you..."its ok u don;t have to pay go ahead" and i woulda hit the camera button and sent u a ticket. so ur prank would back fire. i knew alot of collectors that would do that.

sorry dude i worked for tolls it doesnt work that way. i never had to do something like that but i knew alot of people that did. i wouldnt be summoned to court at all and would def not be paying anything or losin my job. think about it i'd be doin the state a favor. if u get a ticket for runnin a toll how are you gonna dispute it? more money for the state

I LOVE it, and the toll collector was so cool with it too. Legally, you can pay tolls with pennies anywhere up to a $100 bill. It's all legal tender and the toll collectors are obligated by law to accept it, no matter what they say.

That wouldn't work since you clearly told the guy to go ahead - they have those signs by the booth that said "paid" or a green light, so if you said to go ahead you'd have to light that green light which would be "evidence" that the guy paid. Not only that, the number of cars going through wouldn't synch with the cash in your drawer, and you'd be charged the difference yourself.

Toll booths should be illegal, period.

Maybe that's true, but if everyone did it, then toll collecting would no longer be "profitable," and they'd have to dismantle the toll booths, which they should do anyway. It's a monopoly - you cannot go from point A to point B without crossing this bridge, and therefore are held at gunpoint to pay the toll - and that's wrong. So I say we should all do what this guy does!
