I rather die than being in pain!
He didn't disrespect their culture, he is only expressing his feeling toward the act.
I respect him that he did not try to be so as an expert village - out of his way doing something he didn't want to just to gain respect from you guys.
He has been polite enough though, as he was aware of this, he mentioned that and so tasted the skin. He doesn't like it. Fair enough, innit??
And again, I rather be killed than being in pain :--(

Sure, I wouldn't eat reindeer personally, but I'm not offended that people do at all. Heck, if I'd lived there all my life, I'd probably love the stuff hehe. So I'm not about to complain about somebody else's culture =]

I just can't understand why people are having a go at Jack Dee. These people kill the reindeer because they have to - they can only use the resources available to them. Jack was uncomfortable eating the reindeer skin, & only expressed his own discomfort. He didn't insult their culture, & he's not a "pansy" - he was raised in a western society & isn't used to killing animals, that's the way he was brought up, like the vast majority of people in the UK.
So somehow pumping a cow full of hormones and killing it in a slaughterhouse hundreds of miles away before packing it in nice clinical packages is morally superior to killing for food? Buying cheap clothing made by underpaid labour in the developing world is morally superior to killing an animal for clothing? Extraordinary arrogance. Please look in the mirror long and hard before you criticise others - particularly those who live in cultures & environments so different from your own.

Look, softie, try to live far north in Siberia. You won't find chip shops there, mate. By the way, the broken antler dangling from its head makes more pain than cutting it off. And the blood drinking from the antler is just a way to get nutrition without having to kill the reindeer.
