E.T. Extraterrestrial Trailer - SiFi Horror

E.T. Extraterrestrial was orginally shot as a horror film by a low budget, campy horror-flick film crew. The production ran out of money towards the end of the project and was put on hiatus for a year until it finally shutdown July 8th 1980. This promotional trailer along with the original partial film stock was shown to various big-name movie studios when it was finally purchased by visionary Steven Spielberg. He felt the footage was better suited as a heart-warming family adventure, rather than a low-grade SiFi horror with a "bad puppet". He rescripted the entire film and shot numerous additional scenes. The result was the movie 'E.T.' the verision we know and love today. This promotional trailer made by the original film crew is crude, but lasts a historical reminder of "what could've been".
