So, aside from a VERY RARE exception, I think, on balance, most people who 'compete' on these shows would have a better chance at success if they came up through more traditional routes.

Once these singers get heavily associated w/ the respective shows they r on (AI, X Factor, The Voice, etc.), they then have other people write their songs--usually over produced shallow pop CRAP--they then fail b/c the music they were given 2 sing sucks so bad, but the producers & the suits blame the singers 4 the failure. Truth is, hardly ANY1 could ever make it with the SHIT songs they r given & told 2 sell. After their label drops them, they r then tarnished as Bing AI, Voice, etc. 'hasbeens'

The more & more I watch all 'these' shows, the more I start 2 think that they do more harm 4 aspiring singers, than they do good. 5 yrs after they appear on these shows, hardly any1 is still really a true 'player' in the music scene (C. Underwood, K. Clarkson, Daughtry, & I struggle 2 think of any1 else.). And yet, even the judges always talk about people like Lauren here, saying they r going 2 b stars, as though it is a done deal. & then similar singers (C. Bowersox) r never heard from again.
