I highly doubt that. Nintendo was originally going to use a microphone, but they decided that was too expensive so they just put in one of those crappy speakers that you find in a Hallmark music card instead. If you're going to do something as gimmicky as a speaker on a controller, you should at least do it well. The speakers on Nintendo's handhelds sound decent enough so I don't see why the one on the Wiimote is of such poor quality.

yeah press the home button then click on the wii remote and on the bottom left corner, and click on or press the minus (-) button until theres no sound coming from the wii remote. your welcome

the wii remote still amazes me; it includes organized buttons, motion features, a pointer, and a speaker; all in one small controller, the only thing better than the wiimote is the wiimote attached to the nunchuck.
